Cashew nut exports in the first quarter of 2021 reached 634 million USD

In the first quarter of 2021, cashew nut exports reached 108 thousand tons and 634 million USD, up 13.2% in volume but down 5.8% in value over the same period in 2020.

According to the Department of Agricultural Product Processing and Market Development (Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development), the volume of cashew nut exports in March 2021 is estimated at 41 thousand tons with a value of 240 million USD, bringing the export volume of cashew nuts to 13,000 tons. Article 3 of the first 3 months of 2021 reached 108 thousand tons and 634 million USD, up 13.2% in volume but down 5.8% in value over the same period in 2020.

In the first two months of 2021, the United States, China and the Netherlands remained the three largest cashew import markets of Vietnam, accounting for 25.1%, 16.8% and 9.5% respectively. total export value of cashew nuts. In the first months of 2021, cashew export value increased the most in the United Arab Emirates market (5.67 times). In contrast, the market with the largest decrease in cashew export value was the UK market, down 58.9%. The average export price of cashew nuts in the first two months of 2021 reached $5,867/ton, down 16.8% over the same period in 2020.

In the Indian market, the price of raw un-dried cashews is currently around Rs 105/kg in Kerala and southern Karnataka. Prices for mature cashew orchards are at Rs 125/kg in Goa and approximately Rs 120/kg in the coastal area of ​​Karnataka.

In the domestic market, raw material prices fluctuated in the past month. Specifically, dry cashews bought in buckets in Binh Phuoc decreased from 34,000 VND/kg to 31,500 VND/kg. Meanwhile, in Dong Nai, dry cashew purchase in buckets increased from 28,000 VND/kg to 30,500 VND/kg. Generally, in the first 3 months of the year, the price of raw cashew nuts in Binh Phuoc increased from the beginning of the year until mid-March, then began to decrease, while increasing slightly in Dong Nai.
